Please come along to our Eastbourne Arthritis Action Group to  meet others living in your area with arthritis, share hints and tips and  to let us know what you would like to gain from the Self-Management Approach.

Our speaker this month will be Jackie Wood, Dance and Fitness Teacher who will give a talk entitled ‘Movement with Music: Keep Active in the Winter Months’

Jackie Wood is a qualified dance and fitness teacher. She has been teaching movement with music for 5 years. Her exercise is of low impact and her audience is mainly older people. She is also a qualified sport coach and has disability awareness training.

Dame Carol Black talk @ ARMA Annual Lecture @ Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists

We are excited to announce Arthritis Action is sponsoring this year’s annual lecture by Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance (ARMA), with a talk by Dame Carol Black, who will be reviewing the progress to date, as outlined in the recent government paper ‘Improving Lives: the future of work, health and disability, and the other actions, tools and guidance needed to make progress’.

The lecture will take place at 6pm on the 29th January, at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and you can book tickets here.

About Dame Carol Black

Professor Dame Carol Black is Principal of Newnham College Cambridge, expert adviser on health and work at Public Health England, expert adviser to NHS England on the health and wellbeing of NHS staff and Chairman of the Nuffield Trust for Research and Policy Studies in Health Services.  She is also a member of the Welsh Government’s Bevan Commission on health in Wales. She has recently completed for the Prime Minister an independent review of the impact of addiction to drugs, alcohol or obesity on employment and the benefits system.
