One of our key Member benefits is the opportunity to create or join Local Support Groups – or Arthritis Action Groups, as we are now referring to them. Arthritis Action Groups offer Members a platform to meet others, share experiences and tips on living with arthritis and learn more about local services. We aim to set up Groups across the UK.
Arthritis Action Groups

How it works:
Each Group is different and will organise activities that are relevant to the Members who attend. For example Groups could:
- Hold ‘coffee and chat’ events where Members can share their experiences and tips
- Invite local health professionals to give talks
- Arrange for complementary therapists to give taster sessions
- Organise walking sessions to help you walk 6000 steps a day
- Arrange for a local chef to offer cooking tips
- Organise fundraising activities e.g. walks, music and/or singing nights, balls and dances
- Invite Arthritis Action staff to meetings so we can get to know each other and to share knowledge and skills
- Work together to influence local arthritis provision by being the local patient voice in the area
How to set up a group:
To set up a Group we need YOU to volunteer to help lead and/or organise a group. If you are interested to find out more please contact us by email or call us on: 020 3781 7120.
